Does any of this feel familiar?
Insomnia means difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep or waking too early. It can leave you tired during the day, even when you have time and space to sleep.
You are tired until it is time to sleep.
You get into bed ready for rest, then spend a long time waiting for sleep to arrive.
You wake up and start counting the hours left.
It is the middle of the night. You look at the clock and think about how soon you need to be up.
Bedtime has become something you dread.
You have tried changing your routine, but another night of wondering whether you will sleep still feels ahead of you.
The night follows you into the next day.
Work, conversations and ordinary tasks take more effort. Getting through the day leaves little room for anything else.
These experiences can have different explanations. You do not need to recognise every one to ask for help. Your clinician looks at the pattern, your history and how life is affected.

Questions you may have.
Will you prescribe sleeping pills?
Your clinician usually starts with sleep routines and therapy options. Habit-forming sleeping pills are not offered here. They will explain whether another option is appropriate.
What if I snore or wake up gasping?
Please include that in your answers. It can point to sleep apnea, which needs its own assessment. Your clinician can discuss a referral for a sleep study.
What if I need more support?
Your clinician can ask more questions, arrange a video visit or recommend further care. Their additional review is included in the $49 fee.
What if I think ADHD is part of it?
You can share that in your answers. Your clinician can help you decide whether the ADHD assessment would be a useful next step.
How does delivery work?
Delivery is free and tracked across Ontario. You can also have your prescription sent to your own pharmacy. Your Avora care fee stays the same.
Is it covered by OHIP?
Avora fees are paid privately. Your workplace or private plan may reimburse part of the cost. We can provide a receipt for you to check.
