When does the $59 a month start?
After ongoing care begins: your first visit for ADHD, or your clinician's review for other care. It is not charged while you are answering questions.
Is it the same questions every week?
No. Some are asked every week, including the safety questions. The rest are built from what you said last time and from what your physician asked to follow next.
Why weekly, instead of a follow-up appointment?
Follow-up is often booked months apart and starts from scratch. A weekly check-in gives your physician a record of how you have actually been, so changes happen sooner and smaller.
Will I see the same physician?
Your care sits with one physician rather than a pool, so you are not explaining yourself again each time.
What if nothing needs to change?
Nothing extra is asked of you. Your check-ins are still checked, refills continue, and there is a record to look back on if anything shifts.
Is a check-in a video call?
No. It is a few written questions you answer from your phone. Every check-in is checked the moment you send it. Anything that needs your physician reaches them straight away, and they review your whole month and write back. A video visit is arranged if your physician decides you need one.
What letters can my physician write?
A workplace accommodation letter, a travel letter for carrying a controlled medication, a letter to a new prescriber, school or university accommodation, Disability Tax Credit certification and insurance or short-term disability forms. All of them are included once a clinician has assessed a medication for you. Your physician reviews, edits and signs each one, and may decline: a letter can only say what your record supports.
What is the $40 monthly call?
A ten-minute call with your physician, one a month, yours to book whenever suits you. It does not roll over. It is not the same as a video visit your physician decides you need, which is included for everyone at no extra cost.
How do dose changes work?
Your prescriber writes a ladder of dose steps with you and sets where it stops. Between visits your physician moves you along that ladder from your check-ins, and never goes further or faster than that ladder allows.
Can I cancel, or stop for a while?
Cancel any time, and your prescription is yours to fill at any pharmacy. If you stop for a season you can come back within 12 months without paying for the assessment again, and you can take an export of your check-ins, doses and decisions with you whenever you like.
How does delivery work?
Free and tracked across Ontario, or to your own pharmacy. Your care fee stays the same.
Is it covered by OHIP?
Avora fees are paid privately, not covered by OHIP. Your workplace or private plan may reimburse part of it.
