Does any of this feel familiar?

OCD involves unwanted thoughts and repeated actions or mental rituals that can be difficult to step away from. They can take up time and cause distress.

You checked already, but the doubt comes back.

You return to the lock, the message or the same question. Feeling sure does not seem to last.

A thought keeps returning when you want it gone.

You try to move on, but the thought comes back and takes attention away from what matters to you.

A routine takes more time than you meant it to.

Checking, repeating or going over things in your mind stretches into time you needed for the rest of your day.

It is hard to explain what feels wrong.

You may feel you have to do something a certain way, even when describing the reason to someone else is difficult.

These experiences can have different explanations. You do not need to recognise every one to ask for help. Your clinician looks at the pattern, your history and how life is affected.

Message your care team between check-ins when you have a concern.

What your care could include

  • Medication, if your clinician finds it appropriate for you.
  • Support with sleep, daily routines or reviewing your current medication.
  • Follow-ups to hear how you feel and review your care.

Your clinician will explain what they recommend and why. A diagnosis or prescription is not guaranteed.

Questions you may have.

How do you know it is OCD?

Your clinician asks about the thoughts, rituals and time they take. They also consider other explanations, so your care can reflect what you are experiencing.

Do you offer exposure and response prevention?

We don't provide this therapy directly. Your clinician can help you find a suitable service, including publicly funded programs where available.

What if I need more support?

Your clinician can ask more questions, arrange a video visit or recommend further care. Their additional review is included in the $49 fee.

What if I think ADHD is part of it?

You can share that in your answers. Your clinician can help you decide whether the ADHD assessment would be a useful next step.

How does delivery work?

Delivery is free and tracked across Ontario. You can also have your prescription sent to your own pharmacy. Your Avora care fee stays the same.

Is it covered by OHIP?

Avora fees are paid privately. Your workplace or private plan may reimburse part of the cost. We can provide a receipt for you to check.
