Does any of this feel familiar?

Anxiety may show up around particular situations, such as presentations or interviews. It can feel physical, with a racing heart or trembling, even when you feel prepared.

You know what to say. Your voice still shakes.

You have prepared for the meeting, but speaking up brings a rush of nerves that is hard to hide.

Your body reacts before the moment begins.

Your heart races or your hands tremble while you wait for your turn, even before anyone has asked you to speak.

You turn down something you wanted to do.

A role or opportunity interests you, but the thought of presenting makes you hesitate or say no.

Afterwards, you wonder why it felt so overwhelming.

Once the situation passes, the nerves may ease. You still find yourself worrying about the next time.

These experiences can have different explanations. You do not need to recognise every one to ask for help. Your clinician looks at the pattern, your history and how life is affected.

Message your care team between check-ins when you have a concern.

What your care could include

  • Support without medication may be the best next step.
  • Medication, if your clinician finds it appropriate for you.
  • Help finding therapy, including publicly funded options where available.
  • A wider review of anxiety that affects other parts of your life.

Your clinician will explain what they recommend and why. A diagnosis or prescription is not guaranteed.

Questions you may have.

I have something next week. Can I get a prescription?

A prescription isn't guaranteed. Some heart, blood-pressure and breathing conditions can make medication unsuitable. Your clinician will review your history and discuss other ways to support you.

Is this the same as anxiety?

Anxiety can be limited to certain situations or affect more of your day. Your clinician uses your answers to understand the pattern and consider what support fits.

What if I need more support?

Your clinician can ask more questions, arrange a video visit or recommend further care. Their additional review is included in the $49 fee.

What if I think ADHD is part of it?

You can share that in your answers. Your clinician can help you decide whether the ADHD assessment would be a useful next step.

How does delivery work?

Delivery is free and tracked across Ontario. You can also have your prescription sent to your own pharmacy. Your Avora care fee stays the same.

Is it covered by OHIP?

Avora fees are paid privately. Your workplace or private plan may reimburse part of the cost. We can provide a receipt for you to check.
