Does any of this feel familiar?

Support for low desire, reduced sensation, orgasm difficulty and changes in closeness. We also assess sexual changes during antidepressant treatment and persistent symptoms after stopping.

The interest you used to feel has changed.

You notice less desire, even when you want to feel close. Finding a way to explain that can be difficult.

Touch does not feel the way you remember.

Sensation or pleasure feels reduced. Reaching orgasm may be harder, or the experience may feel different.

Closeness feels different too.

The change is not only about sex. Emotional warmth or connection may feel harder to reach than before.

You are trying to understand when it began.

You noticed changes during antidepressant treatment, or they have remained after stopping. You want those changes taken seriously.

These experiences can have different explanations. You do not need to recognise every one to ask for help. Your clinician looks at the pattern, your history and how life is affected.

Clinician-led safety checks

Your monthly care includes reviews of side effects and medication use, with support for any concerns.

  1. Check in each week

Share symptoms, side effects and mood. Each month, add a fuller look at sleep and daily life.

  2. Your prescriber reviews

They follow how you feel over time, alongside your treatment.

  3. You have a next step

Your clinician decides whether to continue, adjust treatment or arrange a visit.

Message your care team between check-ins when you have a concern.

What your care could include

  • A review of current medicines, previous treatment and when symptoms began.
  • Assessment of other possible causes and any tests or referrals needed.
  • Medication options for specific symptoms, when clinically appropriate.
  • A shared goal around sensation, pleasure, desire or closeness.
  • Weekly symptom check-ins and clinician review before treatment changes.

Your clinician will explain what they recommend and why. A diagnosis or prescription is not guaranteed.

Questions you may have.

Do I need to have taken an antidepressant?

No. You can ask about low desire, arousal, sensation, orgasm or closeness without a medication link. Your clinician reviews your symptoms, health and goals.

Is this only about erections?

No. We ask about desire, arousal, sensation, orgasm pleasure and emotional closeness separately. Your follow-up tracks the changes that matter to you.

It started after I began an antidepressant. What now?

Share which medicine you take and when symptoms began. Your clinician reviews your ongoing treatment needs, other possible causes and any changes worth considering.

Can I ask about PSSD after stopping?

Yes. Post-SSRI sexual dysfunction describes persistent sexual symptoms after stopping an SSRI. Your clinician assesses other possible causes and discusses symptom-focused care. Recovery cannot be promised.

What happens during aftercare?

Weekly check-ins follow your chosen symptoms, actual medication use and side effects. Your clinician compares them with your starting point and reviews whether to continue or change treatment.

Do I have to talk to someone about this?

Not usually. You write your answers in your own time. Your clinician may arrange a video visit if it would help.

What if I need more support?

Your clinician can ask more questions, arrange a video visit or recommend further care. Their additional review is included in the $49 fee.

What if I think ADHD is part of it?

You can share that in your answers. Your clinician can help you decide whether the ADHD assessment would be a useful next step.

How does delivery work?

Delivery is free and tracked across Ontario. You can also have your prescription sent to your own pharmacy. Your Avora care fee stays the same.

Is it covered by OHIP?

Avora fees are paid privately. Your workplace or private plan may reimburse part of the cost. We can provide a receipt for you to check.
