Change your pharmacy

Keep your prescriber. A pharmacist reviews the transfer of your remaining prescription.

Keep your prescriber

Move your ongoing care

Meet an Avora clinician to review your treatment. Controlled prescribing requires a video visit first.

Clinician review

Controlled prescriptions may be eligible for either option. Your pharmacist confirms transfer requirements, and your clinician reviews any new prescribing.

What to know about transferring

  • Medication for anxiety, depression, OCD, sleep and quitting smoking.
  • Controlled ADHD medication, subject to clinician and pharmacist review.
  • Transfers are for an existing prescription. New treatment begins with an assessment.
  • An explanation and next steps if your treatment cannot be continued here.

Your clinician will explain what they recommend and why. A diagnosis or prescription is not guaranteed.

Questions you may have.

Can I transfer a controlled prescription?

A pharmacist can review a transfer between pharmacies. To move your prescribing to Avora, a clinician must review your care by video before considering a new prescription. Eligibility depends on current requirements.

Do I have to leave my current prescriber?

You can keep your prescriber if you only want to change pharmacies. Moving your ongoing care to Avora is a separate choice.

What if I don't have a prescription yet?

Start by exploring our care options. An ADHD assessment or questions about another concern can help you connect with a clinician. Transfers are for prescriptions you already have.

What if your clinician disagrees with my dose?

Your clinician will explain any concerns and discuss changes with you first. If they can't continue your current treatment, they'll explain why and talk through next steps.

How does delivery work?

Delivery is free and tracked across Ontario. You can also have your prescription sent to your own pharmacy. Your Avora care fee stays the same.

Is it covered by OHIP?

Avora fees are paid privately. Your workplace or private plan may reimburse part of the cost. We can provide a receipt for you to check.
